Chapter 16

Finally Brooklyn was home after a couple of months of being in the hospital. Carrie and Brad were happy their daughter was home and luckily Brad had finally finished the nursery.

Carrie was walking out of the nursery after putting Brooklyn down in her crib. She held the baby monitor in her hand and went looking for Brad. He was sitting in the living room watching golf and Carrie went and sat down next to him on the sofa. He casually put his arm around Carrie so she snuggled into his chest.

"You know I totally have no interest in golf" Carrie said looking at the screen.

"Dude, I guess we have to break up and Brooklyn is coming with me" Carrie said sitting up and smirking at Brad.
"Is that right? I think you will have a custody fight on your hand because she is my child too" Brad said raising his eyebrows.
"A fight huh? Then bring it on Mr Goon" Carrie laughed.

Brad leaned in and Carrie thought he was going to kiss her but he pressed his forehead against hers and winked, "Mr Goon" and then they laughed.

Brad was in bed reading and he looked up as Carrie emerged from the bathroom.

"Wow I likie what I see" Brad said dropping his book on the floor and patting the empty side of the bed.
Carrie walked over to the bed and climbed in but before she could get comfortable, Brad grabbed her by the waist and pulled her down and then moved above her.

"Dude, is this your way of seducing me?" Carrie said sarcastically.
"Yes now get naked so we can just have sex" Brad joked and leaned in and started nibbling on Carrie's earlobe.

Carrie giggled and instead of Brad pretending to be a cave man he actually seduce Carrie gently and sweetly. They slowly undressed each other and there was lots of kissing.

Several weeks had gone by and Brooklyn was growing stronger but was still having to stay at the hospital. "You have tons of fans here" Carrie giggled one afternoon as they past the nurse's station as the nurses smiled and waved.
Brad looked and smiled, blushed, and nodded and then took Carrie's hand in his as they continued down the hallway to the NICU unit.
"You're embarrassed Mr Richards" Carrie smirked.
"Yeah I am" Brad said turning more red with embarrassment.

They got to the NICU and headed in to visit with Brooklyn. Carrie sat in a rocking chair and the nurse brought Brooklyn over because Brooklyn was able to be out of her incubator for just a short time.

Carrie was holding Brooklyn and it was so amazing and made her happy because her baby was in her arms.

"She is getting bigger" Carrie exclaimed with a huge smile and looked at Brad. Brad smiled back, "Yes she is and hopefully soon we will have her home in the nursery".
"Oh Brad we gotta finish the nursery" Carrie said slightly freaking out.
"It will be done relax sweetheart. I promise" Brad said leaning over to give Carrie a quick kiss.

Carrie and Brad were home that evening chilling watching a movie. Carrie was leaning on Brad's chest and snuggling. It was fun to be close like this and just being alone.

"Hey Brad, I am really happy now"
"Oh yeah"
"Yes because I know Brooklyn is going to be home soon and I will finally get to be a mom. Everything is perfect now".
"Yeah things are definitely great now" Brad said and kissed the top of Carrie's head.

Carrie moved and leaned into Brad and kissed him deeply on the lips. Brad smirked and kissed her passionately back. It turned into a fun make out session for Brad and Carrie on their sofa. The movie was ignored and that was fine.

Chapter 14

Carrie was finally released from the hospital but had to leave her daughter in the NICU. Carrie was getting pushed by the nursery and she said, "Stop and I wanna see my little girl before I go".

The nurse stopped and helped Carrie out of the wheelchair. Brad took Carrie's hand and walked with her over to the window to look at their daughter.

Carrie looked at Brooklyn in her special bassinet and hook up to some machines and it made her sad.

"She is so little" Carrie said biting her lip as she looked at Brad.
"Yes she is but remember she is a Richards" Brad said and took Carrie's face in his hands and leaned down and kissed her deeply.

Brad pulled back and looked at Carrie and they smiled at each other and then he helped her back into her wheelchair. The nurse pushed her down to the car and then Brad helped Carrie into the car. They headed home and Carrie looked out her window thinking about her baby.

When they got home Carrie walked into the condo and went over to the sofa and sat down. She put her hands on her abdomen and let the tears fall. Brad sat down next to her and pulled her into a hug and held her close. Brad rubbed her back and just whispered how much he loved her and everything would be fine.

That night Carrie and Brad were laying in bed snuggled together. Carrie was laying on Brad's chest and thinking about their daughter.

"Brad, you know how scared I am about losing Brooklyn right?"
"Yes baby, I know its hard for you after losing two babies before but Brooklyn is stronger and I feel in my heart she will be home very soon" Brad explained.
"I can't lose another baby especially our baby" Carrie said smiling up at Brad.
Brad leaned down and kissed Carrie deeply and then they feel asleep in each others arms.

The next morning Carrie woke up and untangled herself from Brad's arms. She walked quietly into the bathroom.

Brad moved to pulled Carrie close and realized she was not in bed next to him.

"Sweetheart, where are you?"

Carrie came out of the bathroom and Brad patted the spot next to him on the bed. Carrie giggled and climbed back into bed and snuggled against Brad. They started kissing and making out and then cuddled together.

Carrie pulled back and said, "We need to go and see Brooklyn this morning". Brad kissed Carrie one more time and then they got ready to go to the hospital.

At the hospital Carrie and Brad spent time talking to Brooklyn. The doctor had said talking to their baby was good for her and would help her getting better quicker. That made Brad and Carrie hope that Brooklyn would be home soon.

Chapter 13

Carrie was in her hospital room and the nurses were prepping her for labor. Brad was a nervous wreak and not sure what to do so he sat off to the side and waited until he could hold Carrie's hand. Finally Carrie reached out for Brad's hand and he walked over and held her hand.

"Oh god Brad this is freaking out" Carrie said flipping out.
"It is going to be fine. Just relax" Brad said gently pushing her hair off her face and then giving her a quick kiss on the forehead.
"I...can....not...relax Brad! I have a baby inside of me and it wants OUT! UGH Oh God" Carrie stuttered.

Brad gave Carrie some ice chips to suck and he caressed her hand to try and relax her.

Carrie was slowly starting to calm down because Brad seemed to have that affect on her and that he was caressing her hand was wonderful. He always knew how to calm her down by either holding her hand or giving her a kiss.

The doctor walked in and asked, "How's the patient?"
"I am doing better" Carrie said smiling at Brad, who smiled back at Carrie.
"Good then let's have a baby" the doctor said.

Several hours later Brad and Carrie were the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl. They named her Brooklyn Grace Richards. Little Brooklyn was rushed off to the Neonatal Unit because she was born early. Carrie and Brad had a few moments with their new daughter and then had to watch as the nurses took her so the doctor could check Brooklyn out.

After Brooklyn was gone, Carrie took a deep breath and look up at Brad with tears in her eyes. Brad looked down at Carrie and kissed her.

"I can not say if everything will be perfect but Brooklyn is a Richards and we are strong" Brad said looking lovingly into his fiancee's eyes.
"I hope so because I need our baby daughter to survive after losing two other babies" Carrie said strongly.
"I know sweetheart and all you and I can do is pray for Brooklyn to be strong and survive".
"Bradley you always make me feel better and I love you so much" Carrie said smiling.
"I love you more Carrie" Brad said kissing Carrie again and held her as they prayed for their new baby girl and her survival.

Chapter 12

The Rangers were battling with the Devils in the playoffs and then in game 6 of that series the Devils knocked out the Rangers. Needless to say Brad and his teammates were heartbroken about the loss. It was hard but they all got through the after game interviews and packed their bags and climbed onto the airplane to head back home to their families.

Brad got in really late and quietly walked into the bedroom and put his bags down and then went over to the bed and looked at Carrie sleeping peacefully. He knew Carrie had been watching the game because he was getting texts from her when he checked his phone between periods but because of her pregnancy she could not travel. Brad knew Carrie wanted to be at the game but the baby and Carrie's health were way more important.

Brad walked into the bathroom and then got ready for bed and then slid into the bed and put his arm around Carrie's waist and got comfortable and then went to sleep quickly.

The next morning Carrie woke up to the feeling of Brad's strong arms holding her. She turned to face Brad but it was not as easy because of her huge baby belly but she managed. She gently touched his sleeping face and smiled. Carrie knew Brad was upset because of the loss against the Devils so she was going to try and make Brad happy whatever way possible. Carrie leaned in and kissed Brad's lips and then waited to see if Brad would wake up which he did.

"Morning gorgeous" Brad said, "I loved getting woken up by you kissing me".
Carrie leaned back in for another amazing kiss which Brad totally loved, "I love you so much and want you to always to be happy" Carrie said with her amazing smile and drove Brad crazy in a good way.
"You always make me happy in any situation" Brad said smiling.
"Brad, I know last night was tough and I really wish I could have been there after the game to give you a hug and kiss" Carrie said as a tear fell down her cheek and she bit her lip.
"Oh baby do not cry and the health of our baby is way more important and I knew you were there" Brad said holding his fiancee close and kissing her temple.
"Oh Brad, how did I get to be so lucky to have you back in my life?" Carrie asked.
"No Carrie, I am the lucky one to have you to want me back in your life" Brad said and kissed her again.

They cuddled and talked more in bed for a lot of the morning.

That evening Brad, Carrie, his parents, his sister, Paige, and Carrie's aunt Susan were sitting in Brad and Carrie's condo living area relaxing after a great dinner out earlier.

"Brad you guys played amazing and we have next season to get that cup" Brad's dad Glenn said and Brad's mom Delite nodded in agreement.
"Yeah we do" Brad stated quietly.
"Carrie, how are you feeling these days?" Paige asked.
"Oh gosh I am tired all the time and all the crazy baby things that are happening to my body. I know I am driving poor Brad up the wall with everything" Carrie said looking at Brad.
Brad looked at Carrie and kissed her temple and smiled.

At one point Carrie was in the kitchen getting coffee going for everyone in the kitchen. Carrie was reaching up for something in the cabinet and she felt something in her abdomen.

"Oh wow" Carrie said and shook it off but then she felt it again and this time Brad overheard her and was next to her instantly.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Brad asked concerned holding Carrie.
"I....I....I think the baby is coming...I think. Take me to the hospital please" Carrie pleaded.
Brad picked Carrie up in his arms and everyone else helped out by getting Carrie's bag and getting the house situated after they are left and headed to the hospital.

In the car, Carrie looked over at Brad and said, "Brad, the baby is coming early and I am really scared!"
Brad grabbed Carrie's hand and squeezed it and said, "Everything will be fine, I promise".
"I love you Brad"
"I love you more Carrie"

Chapter 11

The Rangers were seriously getting more into the playoffs and so Brad was really busy and doing a lot of traveling. That meant that Carrie was alone but she was fine with it because it gave her time to rest that both she and the baby needed to stay healthy. The next morning Carrie woke up feeling the baby playing soccer with her bladder so she gently untangled herself from Brad's arms to go into the bathroom. She was washing her hands when she heard Brad call out to her.

"Baby get back into bed with me" Brad called out.
Carrie smirked and quickly finished in the bathroom and headed back to Brad.
Brad smirked when Carrie climbed back into bed and cuddled with Brad.

Carrie and Brad were laying facing each other and Brad leaned in and kissed Carrie deeply. Brad then started to seduce Carrie by letting his hands slide over Carrie's body. He gently undressed Carrie and then shed his own pajamas. Carrie slid her hands along Brad's back.

"Ugh I am so bored" Carrie said to the walls. She was waiting for the Rangers game to come on the tv. She was so annoyed that she could not go to Madison Square Garden to support her man but at least she could watch the game.

Finally the game started and Carrie was enjoying all the action.

"Come on guys score" Carrie yelled at the tv. The action was getting faster because the Rangers were playing their arch rival the Islanders. During the second period was getting nasty with lots of fights. Carrie watched as Brad actually threw some punches at some Isles player. Brad ended up on the ice with the other guy but from what the commentators said Brad had won that fight which made Carrie smile.

"That's my man" Carrie giggled again to herself. She could not wait until the game was over so that Brad would be at home with her.

As luck would have it the game ended in regulation and the Rangers had won.

Carrie was glad because that meant Brad would be in a great mood and they could celebrate.

Brad got home really late because all the reporters wanted to talk with him after the game because he had scored the game winning goal. But while he was talking with the reporters all he could think about was Carrie and hoping she was fine. Ever since her stay at the hospital he was extremely protective of Carrie and wanted nothing to happen to her or their baby.

Finally he was home and he quietly walked into the bedroom and saw Carrie sleeping peacefully. Brad walked over to the bed and just looked at Carrie and smiled.
She looked like an angel with her hair spread across the pillow.

Brad undressed and climbed into bed. He pulled Carrie to his body and held her close.

Carrie felt Brad pulled her to him and she turned to look at him.

"Hey baby. Go back to sleep sweetheart you need rest for your sake and the baby's" Brad said gently and caressed Carrie's cheek and then kissed her tenderly.
Carrie yawned and then snuggled into Brad's chest.

"Hey Brad"
"Yes Carrie"
"I love you Brad"
"I love you more Carrie"

Chapter 9

Brad woke up early to go and see Carrie before practice and when he got to the hospital. He quietly walked into Carrie's room and saw she was still sleeping so he went and sat down next to her on the bed and took her hand in his and kissed it. Brad looked over at the baby monitor and just listened as it kept track of the babies heart rate. "Hey morning handsome" Carrie said stretching.
Brad jumped slightly at Carrie's voice and then smiled at her, "Morning gorgeous" and then kissed her gently.
"You are here so early?"
"I told you I was coming back before practice and missed having you next to me last night in bed".
Carrie giggled, "I did not miss you".
Brad looked shocked, "What you did not miss me? Now I am heartbroken".
"Because you were in my dreams and held me all night long" Carrie joked, "Now you better give me a great morning kiss!"
Brad smirked and kissed Carrie.

"Anyway how are you feeling?" Brad asked still holding Carrie's hand.
"Better and hopefully soon I can leave because I really want to be in my own bed".
"I want you in our bed too" Brad said winking at Carrie. Carrie just rolled her eyes and knew exactly what Brad was thinking.
"You are being such a guy with all this bedroom talk. Now you need to get to practice so you will win your game tomorrow" Carrie said.
"Yes but I will be back soon. Do you need anything before I go?" Brad asked wanting to be the good fiancee and making sure she was fine.
"I am good Brad and I think they will be bringing me some food soon because I am starving".
"Why did you not say something because I would have gotten you something sweetheart?" Brad said trying to be helpful.
"Its really fine Brad. I promise just relax and get going so you are not late. I am fine" Carrie said touching Brad's cheek to help him chill out.
"But you are pregnant and so you have two people to be feeding so I worry more for both you" Brad said as he let go of Carrie's hand and put his hand on her abdomen and gently caressed it.
Carrie smiled and put her hand over Brad's on her abdomen, "We are fine now go".
Brad leaned over to kiss Carrie and were interrupted by a young woman came in with a tray.

"I am here with your breakfast Ms Andrews" the young woman said and Carrie smiled.

"Thank you" Carrie said and Brad took the tray and set the table over Carrie's bed so she could eat her breakfast.

"See my food is here darling and I will be fine" Carrie smirked at Brad. Brad smiled again and kissed her gently on the lips, "I love you and will be back in a little bit" he said and left.

Carrie took a breath and then ate her breakfast and then turned on the television and then after a little while Carrie went back to sleep.

Brad was enjoying having a good hard practice with his teammates. They were working hard on drills and faceoffs.

Finally practice was done and the guys were all showering and getting dressed for the rest of their day. Brad's teammate, Henrik, noticed that Brad had a little more zip in his step about getting ready to leave the rink so he had to mess with him.

"Hey Brad you got a hot date or ants in your pants because you seem to be in a serious rush to get out of here?" Henrik chirped loudly so the rest of the guys heard.
Sure enough more of the guys noticed and starting making jokes at Brad about him rushing to get dressed.
Brad finished getting dressed and then looked up at his teammates, "Yeah I am getting some from a hottie who screams my name all night long unlike most of you" Brad chirped back as he grabbed his bag and saluted his teammates as he walked out the door.
"He got us all on that one" Henrik said as the rest of the guys just laughed.

Brad went to the flower shop before he went back to the hospital. He wanted to get Carrie some flowers to lighten up the room and the plus was to show her he loved her with some roses.

He got to the hospital and wandered into her room and she was sitting reading a book when Brad walked in with the flowers.

"Hey" Carrie said, "Those are beautiful flowers, Brad".
"I just wanted to get you some flowers because I love you" Brad said placing the flowers on the table near the window and then he came and sat down next to Carrie, "How are you doing?".
"I am good and thank you for my flowers" Carrie said kissing Brad.
"You are welcome sweetie and I would do anything for you" Brad smiled and touched Carrie's cheek and then kissed her again.
"I know Brad and I feel so lucky to have you in my life" Carrie said smiling at Brad.
"I am the lucky one and always will be because you are so precious to me, Carrie".

Carrie smiled and then looked at Brad, "The doctor said I should be able to leave tomorrow morning".
"I will be here to take you home" Brad said with a huge grin on his face which made Carrie smile too.

The rest of the time Brad cuddled with Carrie on her hospital bed and they watched tv and talked.

The next morning Carrie was talking with the doctor about what she can do to relax so that she and her baby's health would be fine. As they were talking Brad showed up.

"Hey Brad" Carrie said smiling at him and he smiled back.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Yes I am. Can you get my bag please?"

Brad grabbed Carrie's bag while the doctor gave Carrie her paperwork.

"Carrie just take it easy because I know you two want to have a healthy baby" the doctor said and both Carrie and Brad nodded.
"Thanks doctor for everything" Carrie said shaking the doctor's hand and then she and Brad headed out of the hospital.

When Carrie and Brad got home she was so relieved and relaxed.

"Oh my god Brad you do not know how happy I am to be here" Carrie said sitting down on the sofa and Brad sat down next to her.
"I am happy you are here too" Brad said and pulling Carrie so she was sitting on his lap.
"Hey what are you trying to do dude?" Carrie laughed but enjoying the closeness to her man.
"Wanting to be intimate with my gorgeous fiancee and showing her how much I love her" Brad said kissing deeply and letting his hands move over her body.
Carrie moved so she could let her hands roam over Brad's body too. She slid her hands under Brad's shirt and she heard him groaned as she continued letting her hands over his abs. Brad pulled back and quickly shed his shirt and helped Carrie take her shirt off too. Brad then looked at Carrie and said, "Lets go back into the bedroom so we can be more comfortable". Carrie got up and helped Brad up off the sofa and she led him back to the bedroom.

Carrie walked over to the bed and Brad stopped her before she sat down. He pulled her close and kissed her.

"Just stay put in here for a moment and I will be right back" Brad said to Carrie. Carrie looked confused but sat down on the bed and watched as Brad walked into the bathroom.

While he was doing whatever he was doing, Carrie grabbed a blanket and put it over her shoulders because she was cold and then gave up on staying put because she was curious so she went to the bathroom and opened the door.

Brad had the water running in the tub going and there were bubbles filling the tub up too. Carrie crept in and surprised Brad who jumped, "Hey you were supposed to stay put" he joked and took the blanket off of her and threw it on the floor.

"Sorry I got bored waiting and curious as to what in the world you were doing in here" Carrie laughed.
"I just thought a relaxing bubble bath for two would be relaxing and fun for us" Brad said suggestively which made Carrie giggle.

"Now I think you need a lot less clothes on for this bubble bath" Brad said and starting helping Carrie take off the rest of her clothes and then helped her step into the bathtub. Carrie sank into the amazingly hot water and it felt like heaven and then Brad quickly undressed himself and joined Carrie.

Carrie moved so that she was straddling Brad's lap. They started kissing again and touching each other. Chapter 8

Brad showed up at the hospital and rushed as fast as he could to Carrie's room. He knocked on the opened door, "Hey" Brad said.

"I mean lets be parents first and then think about getting married later" Carrie said and leaned up to kiss Brad.
Brad deepened the kiss and pulled Carrie as close as he could to his chest. Carrie put her arms around Brad's shoulders and Brad leaned Carrie down just a little bit until they hit the pillow on the hospital bed but then were interrupted by a nurse.

"Excuse me but I need to check on the patient" the nurse said as Brad and Carrie broke apart both embarrassed. Carrie giggled and Brad gave her another quick kiss and then pulled back and then got up from the bed so the nurse could check Carrie.

Brad sat back on an extra chair in Carrie's room and waited until the nurse was finished. The nurse checked Carrie's abdomen and then checked the baby monitor and then looked over a few other things and then whispered to Carrie, "Everything is fine so I will let you spend more time with that hunk of a boyfriend of yours ok" the nurse smirked and Carrie giggled as they both looked at Brad who gave them a confused look.

The nurse left and Brad walked back to the bed and sat down next to Carrie.

"So where were we?" Brad joked leaning in for another kiss which made Carrie giggle as Brad pressed his lips to hers again.

Then Brad pulled back and looked at Carrie whose eyes were still slightly shut and her lips were slightly swollen from his kiss. Carrie opened her eyes and looked at Brad who was smiling down at her.

"I love you too Carrie and I know you need rest so if we are good, I am going to go home and let you sleep. And I will be back in the morning to check on you".
"Don't you have practice or something?"
"Yeah but I will come before and then after so we can just be together" Brad said.
"Thanks" Carrie said and then Brad leaned in for one more kiss and then headed home.

Carrie got comfortable and watched some television and her phone rang and she looked to see her aunt calling her.

"Hey Aunt Susan"
"Hey sweetie, how did things go?"
"Good we talked and everything is fine"
"In other words he kissed you senseless and you could not help but forgive him"
"Aunt Susan really"
"Carrie I know you and how you feel about Brad and you love him and know deep down he is a good guy and wants to be with you no matter what"

Carrie had thought that it had been kinda sudden with the engagement and it hit her that maybe he did it partially because of the baby or he had changed his thoughts about his future.

Brad was looking around and did not see Carrie anywhere in the room and then noticed the doors to the balcony were opened and so he wandered out there and saw Carrie. He walked over to her and put his arms around her waist.

Carrie jumped and turned to see Brad holding her, "Hey darling" Brad said and then leaned down to kiss Carrie on the lips but she turned her head and he ended up kissing her cheek. Brad pulled back, "What was that all about?" Brad asked with a confused look on his face.
"We can talk about it later" Carrie said moving away from Brad and feeling bad for saying it.
"Sure" Brad said and then they both went back inside to the party and they both pretended everything was fine.

The ride home was quiet and Brad kept looking over at Carrie and wondering what was going on.

They got home and Carrie went inside first and Brad followed afterwards. Carrie went to the bedroom and Brad went into the kitchen and grabbed a beer and then went to the den and turned on the television.

Meanwhile Carrie packed a bag and then headed downstairs and Brad saw her walk by and he jumped up and ran over to where she was and was shocked that she had a suitcase.

"Where are you going?"
"I need some time alone to think" Carrie said.
"Why and wait a minute you said we would talk when we got home but you just pack a bag and walk away. What in the hell is going on?" Brad exclaimed loudly.
"Sorry and all I will say is that one of your teammates wives told me that you said that you were not going to start a family until after your hockey career was over and yet you ask me to marry you. And part of me just realized it was kinda sudden after I told you I was pregnant that we got engaged so I am not sure what to think right now so can you give me some time?" Carrie asked hopefully.
"I am shocked but you know I love you and I did say that but you made me rethink my life and future but I will give you the time you need to figure things out. Where are you going to go?" Brad asked looking sad.
"My Aunt Susan's place and she knows so if you need me that is where I will be" Carrie said and then heard a hocking and it was her aunt's car service and Brad helped her out and gave Carrie a quick kiss before she left.

Brad waved as the car drove off but he was so confused and hated interviews and the internet but hoped that this time apart would help and make Carrie realize that they were meant to be not matter what anyone said about any subject.

Carrie cried the whole way to her aunt's place but knew she needed a little time to just think without Brad in the same room with her.

When she got to her aunt's place she had calmed down and told her aunt she just wanted to be alone and Susan understood and helped her get settled in her room. Susan left Carrie so she could be alone and think.

After a few hours later Susan went to check on Carrie and found her asleep in the bed. Susan smiled and covered her with a blanket and kissed her head and said to herself, "You just needed rest sweetie and everything will be ok" and then she left the room.

During the middle of the night Carrie woke up to a pain her in abdomen. She tried breathing and trying to calm down but the pain was too much to bear so she just walked as best she could to the bathroom but did not make it and passed out on the floor.

Susan heard a noise and got up and walked into the hallway and saw Carrie on the floor and went over to her, "Carrie sweetie are you ok? Carrie, Carrie". Susan ran to call 911 and the ambulance showed up fast and took Carrie to the hospital.

Finally the nurse came out to talked to Susan and told her what room Carrie was in so she headed down there and slowing opened the door to see Carrie resting in the bed.

"You fainted and I found you. I am just glad you are here and hopefully everything will be fine".

Just then the doctor came in and to check on Carrie.

The doctor checked a few more things and then left the room.

Aunt Susan's phone started ringing and she looked at who was calling her and it was Brad.

"Hello Brad" said Susan.

"Good and how are you?"
"Frantic and worried to death about Carrie. She is not answering her phone and she said she was staying with you so I figured I would try calling you. Do you know where she is or why she is not answering her phone, please" Brad said freaking out.
"Calm down Brad. She is right here with me".
"Are you guys at home because I really want to see her".
"Actually we are at the hospital".
"Oh my god what happened?" Brad said practically losing it on the phone.
"Carrie fainted and she is in the hospital resting because she was under some serious stress" Susan said.
"I am on my way now. Which hospital are you at?" Brad asked.
"We are at Mount Sinai Hospital. Carrie is in room 1919 and...." Susan said and before she could finished Brad quickly said, "Bye" and hung up.

"Well sweetie he is on his way. You gonna be ok with him here?"
"Yeah I really need to talk to him. Can you stay until he gets here?" Carrie asked.
"Of course" Susan said sitting down next to Carrie on her bed and gave her a hug.

Carrie relaxed and just waited for Brad to show up so they could figure out where they should go from here.

"Good luck man and I am sure you will figure something that will surprise Carrie" Henrik said patting Brad on the back.
"Thanks Henrik, I appreciate that a lot. Well I gotta head home anyway so see you tomorrow for practice" Brad said getting off the bike and picking up his stuff they guy hugged and both headed out.

Meanwhile Carrie was heading to her condo after a busy day at work. She was really tired but kept her eyes opened till she got home. She opened the door and walked in and her eyes popped out of her head. There were roses everywhere and lit candles everywhere and red and pink balloons filling up her living room.

"Well then I am really looking forward to adult things with you, baby and I am going to make sure its special because you are very special to me, Carrie" Brad said and then surprisingly kissed Carrie and she welcomed his kiss and Brad deepened it and Carrie played tonsil hockey with him and she won.

Chapter 2

A few days later Carrie was getting ready for work in her condo when her cell phone rang. She walked over to it and looked to see who was calling her because she had not given her new number to many people.

The screen on her phone flashed, "Brad" and Carrie smiled to herself and answered it.

"Hello" Carrie said smiling like a kid on Christmas.
"Hey hope its not too early to be calling you?" Brad asked with some concern.
"I am getting ready for work so its fine. How are you, Brad?"
"Oh good and I am fine. I was hoping that you might be free for dinner tonight?"
Carrie thought for a second and then responded, "I am free for dinner tonight" then she worried she had answered to quickly.
"Great then be ready at 6:30 tonight and dress to impress me" Brad joked.
"Oh gosh, I have to impress you well then I guess my lunch hour is me shopping for the most impressive outfit ever" Carrie said sounding worried.
"Sweetheart, I was kidding. You look amazing in anything even a hockey jersey but you do need to look nice for where I am taking you, ok" Brad kidded back.
"Thanks Brad and I will see you tonight. I gotta run so I am not late" Carrie said.
"Can not wait to see you sweetheart and have a good day" Brad said.
"You have a good day too" Carrie said and then they ended their calls.

About an hour later Carrie was sitting at her desk working and her aunt knocked on her door.

"Hey sweetie, how are you?" Susan said walking in and handing Carrie a coffee mug.
"Thanks, I was delayed this morning and forgot to stop by Starbucks" Carrie said accepting the coffee.
"You were delayed?" her aunt said sitting down in a chair by Carrie's desk.
"Sorry I was not late" Carrie apologizing and biting her lip.
"Sweetie, I do not care if you were late because you always get your work done but I am curious as to why you were delayed? Did it have anything to do with one gorgeous hockey player you chatting with the other day?" Susan smirked.
Carrie blushed and put her face in her hands and nodded.
"Oh Carrie that is wonderful! When is he taking you out?"
"Tonight and he is taking me to dinner".
"Great then you need to leave early so you can get yourself all dolled up for him and do not forget to wear some sexy undergarments because you never know what might happen afterwards" Carrie's aunt joked.
"Oh my god Aunt Susan seriously? I am not dating him. We are just going to dinner" Carrie said blushing and feeling very embarrassed.
"Carrie you are a grown up and so is Brad and you two have a history so go for it and I bet you will not be hurt or disappointed".
"Oh Aunt Susan" Carrie said shaking her head.
"I know things Carrie and I lived a long time now I am gonna go and get some work done and I suggest you leave early like around lunchtime so you will have plenty of all dolled up time for Brad" Susan said and walked out the door.
Carrie watched her aunt leave and then got back to business.

Around two o'clock Susan walked into Carrie's office and stood in the door.

"Go now and get yourself all dolled up" Susan declared and Carrie jumped.
"You scared me".
"I meant to now get a move on and I suggest you make a stop at Victoria Secret" Susan said and then left.

Carrie gathered her things and closed up her office and headed down to the car that was waiting for her. She told the driver she had some errands to run and they headed off.

After two and a half hours later Carrie was in her condo getting ready for her dinner date with Brad. She had listen to her aunt and bought some new lingerie to wear but was not planning on letting Brad see it.

Sure enough Carrie's intercom buzzed and she answered it, "Hello".
"Miss Andrews you have a visitor shall I buzz him in?" the doorman said.
"Yes please and thank you" Carrie answered and quickly went back into her bedroom to grab her purse and jacket.
The doorbell rang and Carrie took a deep breath and walked to the door and opened it to see Brad looking amazing in a suit. Carrie almost passed out because he looked so gorgeous.

"Wow now look at you, Carrie! Gorgeous simply gorgeous and I feel like a bum compared to you" Brad said taking Carrie's hand and twirling her around in front of him. Carrie giggled which made Brad smile.
"You look pretty dashing Mr Richards" Carrie said smiling.
"Why thank you Miss Andrews. Now are you ready for dinner?"
"Yes I think I am" Carrie said and Brad took her hand in his and they headed out.

After dinner Brad and Carrie walked for a little bit holding hands and enjoying some sights of downtown New York. Brad smiled down at Carrie as she looked around at all the lights and people. Carrie shivered slightly and Brad noticed and stopped to hail a cab. Carrie noticed how Brad was being so chivalrous because she was cold.

Brad got them a cab and they headed back to Carrie's condo.

When they got back to the condo and Brad sat down on Carrie's sofa and grabbed Carrie's hand and pulled her down onto his lap. Carrie squealed in surprise and Brad laughed.

"So this is awkward" Carrie said sitting on Brad's lap.
"No its not awkward at all. It is perfect because I get to enjoy you alone" Brad said and gently pulled Carrie's face to his so that their foreheads were touching.
Brad noticed that Carrie was trembling and he pulled back and looked into her eyes.

"Carrie you are shaking what's wrong?"
"I am scared".
"You do not need to be scared when you are with me".
"My past is why I am scared and it is not you" Carrie said attempting to move but Brad pulled her closer and surprised Carrie and kissed her gently on the lips.
Carrie looked at Brad and bit her lip and then started to cry and she moved and Brad let her get up.

Carrie wandered over to the window behind the sofa. She hugged herself and Brad came over to where she was and stood next to her but knew not to touch her.

"Carrie, sweetheart tell me what happened. I want to know" Brad asked.
"Its...a...long story" Carrie said between sniffles.
"I have all night to listen".
"Brad why do you want to know? We have not seen each other in forever? I just do not get it?" Carrie said turning to look at Brad with a confused look on her face.
"Because I have always loved you and always thought about you and wondered if I had not been stupid and left you behind when I headed to the NHL. And I am glad we reconnected and hope we can start over and maybe make this more permanent relationship. If that is ok with you?" Brad explained and put his hand out and Carrie took Brad's hand and he led her back to the sofa and they sat down together.

Carrie looked at Brad and said, "You are amazing and I hope you still want to be with me after what I have to tell you".
"Carrie, I will no matter what. Nothing you tell me would change how I have always felt about you. You are still the sweet and beautiful woman I remember".
Carrie smiled and leaned her head onto Brad's shoulder and took a breath. Brad held her and knew it was going to be a long night and that was fine with him because he wanted Carrie to be happy no matter what happened.

Chapter 1

Carrie missed being with Brad when they had been young. He was so sweet and gentle with her and made her know that being with a man is supposed to be happy and not sad.

Life made the young happy couple have to go their separate ways and so Carrie thought that Jason was a good guy. He was nothing of the sort. He hit her, raped her and was verbally abusive and Carrie thought she deserved it but now she had gotten out of that relationship and moved away and Jason was now in jail and would never hurt her or anyone again.

Carrie was back in New York working for her Aunt Susan at her party planning company and just getting stronger by going to a counselor. Carrie was determined to get the past out of her mind and realize she was deserving of a healthy relationship with someone who would love her no matter what had happened in her life.

Carrie was going over some work on her laptop in her office when she heard a knock on her door. She looked up and saw her aunt standing in the door.

"Hey Aunt Susan come in" Carrie said as her aunt came and sat down on the corner of her desk.
"We just got a huge account for the business" Susan said smiling.
"That's great news. Who are we going to be planning a party for this time?" Carrie asked excitedly.
"The New York Rangers" Susan said.
"That is a huge account and I am really happy for you" Carrie said getting up from her chair and giving her aunt a hug.
"Sweetie you know who plays on the Rangers now?"
"No who?"
"Brad" Susan said looking at Carrie.
"Good for him" Carrie just stated and sat back down in her chair.
"Sweetie, it might be fun to see him again. Its not like you two had a bad breakup. You two just have different life paths but maybe it would be fun to reconnect with him. Catching up with old friends is fun. Think about it because this would be a great opportunity" Susan said as she got up and headed out of Carrie's office.

Carrie thought about what her aunt said and it would be fun just see Brad again and catch up.


Meanwhile at Madison Square Garden, the Rangers had just finished a tough practice and were having a team meeting in the locker room. Coach T walked into the room, "Hey guys give me your attention please"
The room got silent and all the guys looked up at their coach.

"This year's annual wine tasting party is being planned by "Kick It Up" and the owner is a good friend of my wife's. It will be required by everyone to attend. More details will be given out as it gets closer. I just wanted to give you all a heads up. OK that is all for now have a great afternoon and we will get to more serious tomorrow."

The guys are finally got themselves together and headed out of the arena.

Brad was heading out the door paying more attention to his phone than where he was walking. He bumped into someone and dropped his phone.

"Excuse me" Brad said and then looked to see who he had bumped into and his eyes widened, "Carrie?"
"Brad"
"What are you doing here?" Brad asked in shock.
"I am here with my aunt to help her with some party the Rangers are having soon" Carrie explained.
"Oh good so then you are a party planner?" he asked smiling at Carrie.
"I am my aunt's assistant and moved here recently so its all new to me" she said shyly.
"New to New York like me well I guess then since we are old friends, we can learn New York together, if you want to?" Brad suggested hopefully.
"Yeah since we are old friends that would be fun and I would love to catch up again unless your girlfriend or wife would have a problem with that?" Carrie said and then feeling stupid for saying it.
"No girlfriend or wife now, still a bachelor. What about you any boyfriend?"
"No I am single now and starting over from a recent past that was tough" Carrie explained.
"Oh ok, I know its always nice to have someone you kinda know to hang out with so give me your number and I will definitely be in touch so we can catch up because I would love that" Brad said smiling and they exchanged numbers and then said their goodbyes and both headed off in opposite directions.

Carrie was smiling when she finally found her aunt, who noticed who Carrie had run into.

"I see you and Brad were talking"
"Yes and he is gonna call me so we can reconnect and catch up at some point soon" Carrie said smiling.
"Good because you need some happiness in your life now, sweetie" her aunt said and they headed off to their meeting.
